How Credits Work
Three modes spend a credit: Backing track, Remove vocals, and Stem separation. Loop a section never does. Signed in on the free plan, you get 5 credits a day. As a guest, you get 3, once. Pro is unlimited.
What spends a credit
Riffloop has four modes. Only three of them touch your credits.
- Backing track, Remove vocals (Karaoke), and Stem separation all run the same six-stem separation. Each spends one credit, no matter which mode you pick or where you run it.
- Loop a section just repeats the original audio. Nothing gets separated, so it's always free.
Remove vocals feels free because it plays an instant rough preview the moment you click. It isn't: the real separation runs underneath that preview, and it costs the same credit as the other two.

Guest access is a one-time trial, not a subscription. It's extension-only, since the Studio always needs an account. Your 3 credits don't come back tomorrow, and the only way to get more without signing in is reinstalling the extension, which also clears your saved loops.
Signing in is what makes the count refill. You get 5 a day for as long as you use Riffloop, plus a longer section length and saved loops synced between the extension and the web.
When it resets
Your 24-hour window starts on your first credit, not at midnight. Use one at 3pm, and the next 5 open up at 3pm the next day.
This is tracked on your account, so it survives signing out, reinstalling the extension, or switching devices.
One pool for both
Once you're signed in, the extension and the Studio share the same 5-a-day count. Use them all in the extension and the Studio shows zero until the next reset, and the reverse is just as true.
Signing in after using guest credits
Signing in carries over what you've already used instead of adding a fresh 5. Use all 3 guest credits, then sign in, and your first day opens with 2 remaining, not 5. After that, it's a full 5 every reset.
Pro is unlimited
Pro accounts have no daily count. Every job just runs, on the extension and in the Studio. There's no separate credit pack: Pro is the only way past the daily cap.
Running out
Riffloop shows an upgrade prompt instead of starting the job. Nothing is spent and nothing is charged. Wait for the reset, sign in if you're still a guest, or go Pro.

What counts as "one credit"?
Any job that separates a song into its six stems: Backing track, Remove vocals (Karaoke), and Stem separation, on the extension or in the Studio. Loop a section never spends a credit, because it doesn't separate anything.
How many credits do I get as a guest?
3, total. That's a one-time allowance, not a daily one. It doesn't refill the next day, and only comes back if you reinstall the extension or clear its storage, which also loses your saved loops.
How many credits do I get once I sign in?
5, and it actually refills: 24 hours after your first credit of the window, not at midnight. Sign in with Google at studio.riffloop.app or from the extension's credits chip.
Does Remove vocals (Karaoke) really cost a credit?
Yes. It plays an instant rough preview while the real separation runs, which can make it feel free, but the job underneath is the same six-stem separation as Backing track and Stem separation. It spends the same one credit.
Does looping a section cost a credit?
No. Loop a section repeats the original audio without separating anything, so it's free every time, on any plan.
Is the extension's allowance separate from the Studio's?
No. Once you're signed in, both draw from the same 5-a-day pool tied to your account. 5 separations in the extension leaves zero for the Studio until it resets, and vice versa.
I used my guest credits, then signed in. Why don't I have a full 5?
Signing in carries your guest usage over rather than adding a fresh 5 on top. If you'd already used your 3 guest credits, your new account starts that first day with 2 remaining, not 5. It resets to a full 5 daily from there.
Does Pro have a limit?
No. Pro removes the daily cap entirely, so you can separate as many songs as you want, on the extension and in the Studio.
Can I buy extra credits without upgrading to Pro?
No. There's no pay-per-credit top-up. Pro is the only way to remove the daily limit.
What happens when I run out?
Riffloop shows an upgrade prompt instead of starting the job. Nothing is charged and no credit is spent. You can wait for the reset, sign in if you're still a guest, or go Pro.
